What is Micro - Needling?

Micro-Needling also known as collagen induction Therapy, is an innovation in aesthetics for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars, and improvement of the skins texture, tone and colour.

During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin's repair process results in thicker dermis with softer wrinkles.

Collagen Induction Therapy  (CIT) provides real improvements you can see and feel!

Benefits/Effects on the skin

  1. Increase density

  2. Improve texture, tone,colour

  3. Reduce mild to moderate acne scarring

  4. Reduce appearance of surgical scars

  5. Soften fine lines and wrinkles

  6. Shrink pores-it helps pores appear much smaller. Micro needling stimulates collagen production in and around the pores, which causes them to plump and appear shrunken, if not closed.

Description of procedure

The micro skin needling system allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin which triggers new collagen synthesis.

The result is smoother, firmer and younger looking skin. Skin needling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of the sterile micro pen needle head. The procedure is normally completed within 30-60 minutes depending on the required treatment and anatomical site.

Prior to treatment the area is numbed with ZENSA cream which is 5% Lidocaine .( if you have a allergy to Lidocane please inform the technician)

After the procedure , the skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. The skin’s redness will diminish greatly after a few hours following the treatment and within the next 24 hours will be generally calmed.

After 3 days the skin will return to a normal or near normal appearance.

Recommended follow up treatments are every 4-6 weeks and best results a series of

3-5 treatments.
